Reading Notes: Jataka Part B

I decided to write notes over my favorite Jataka Tale from Part B of the reading.

The Ox Who Envied The Pig
Main Characters: Big Red (Ox), Little Red (Ox's brother), Farmer, Farmer's Daughter, Mother, Pig
Plot: There once were two brother ox: Big Red and Little Red. They lived on a farm where the farmer's daughter was soon to be wed. The farmer's wife decided that the pig should be fattened for her daughter's wedding, so the pig received the best food while the ox received mediocre food in smaller amounts. Little Red complained to Big Red how they were only given straw and grass to eat, yet they did all the hard work. Big Red explained to Little Red that he should not be envious of the pig's circumstances. Shortly after, the pig was killed and feasted upon.
